Parenting Questions

Some kids come home from school chatting away, ready to tell you everything that happened. Other kids are a closed book, and turning the pages is a delicate task. Here are some questions to help change the after-school conversation and get kids talking.

  • What made you smile today?

  • What was the best thing that happened at school today?

  • What was the worst thing that happened at school today?

  • What made you feel proud today?

  • Tell me something that made you laugh today.

  • What was the book about that your teacher read?

  • Can you tell me an example of kindness you saw/showed?

  • Did you learn something you didn’t understand?

  • What’s the biggest difference between this year and last year?

  • Teach me something I don’t know.

  • Who did you sit by at lunch today? What did you talk about?

  • Can you show me something you learned today?

Try out these 12 suggestions and then check the next newsletter for more ways to start some new conversations with your children.

Are You Our Next Pre-K Teacher?

Or do you know who is?

Dear LA Families,

Due to her broken foot, a needed surgery, and several days a week of required rehab, Mrs. Bean is sadly leaving us from teaching Pre-K. We need to hire a new Pre-K teacher and we need to do so SOON!

We need someone who is organized and structured, loves children, is patient, and desires to work and serve children in a Christ-centered environment.

Do you know someone who would be a good fit? Is it you!?

Please help us fill this position by praying with us and maybe it is you we should hire!? Maybe you know the perfect fit.

Here is the application link.

Thank you!
